How Does “Driver Detective” Update the HP Monitor Driver?
The program scans your PC immediately after the program installation is finished. Scanning normally takes several minutes. After all the data about your PC’s hardware is collected, “Driver Detective” checks its driver database for the right drivers for your computer.
Once the software finishes scanning your computer for drivers needing updates and looks through its database, it gives you a detailed list of all the hardware drivers that need to be updated on your computer including your HP Monitor Driver.
“Driver Detective” will then download the necessary drivers and install the latest version on your computer. Is that easy enough?
More about HP Monitors
Most of the HP LCD monitors have a black bezel and a sturdy base that gives you a generous range for tilting and height adjustments. While most models cannot swivel, they can be rotated 90 degrees to the portrait mode. The stand allows you to slide the keyboard under the monitor freeing up some more desk space which is a welcome feature on anybody’s desktop. Most of the monitors have cable sleeves to hold the power and signal cables.
Like most LCD displays, HP LCD monitors have built-in speakers. Unfortunately like most monitor speakers the volume just isn’t loud enough to use for an entire room. They are OK for surfing the web and playing streaming video but just aren’t loud enough to watch a movie with a couple of friends.
HP monitors shine in the performance department. They have some of the best brightness and contrast ratios of all brands of monitors. Text is clear and readable at font sizes as low as 6.8 pixels for Times New Roman. Only the high-end models are HDTV compliant. However, I watch HD movies on a 60 inch TV not on a 19 to 40-inch computer monitor so I’m not really sure if HDTV ready is an important feature on products designed to be computer monitors for the average consumer. Movies aside, HP monitors provide clear sharp pictures and excellent color resolution. Most have a minimum resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels or higher.
Overall, HP monitors are good quality monitors that come with one-year parts and labor warranty. They provide the standard website technical support such as downloads, pdf manuals, and a knowledge base. They also provide live technical support through a chat function on their website which is really nice when you do have a problem.
