Focusing on SCSI technology was also driven by the absence of local competition, lower operating costs, easier market entry, and relatively simple manufacturing process. Presently, Liu performs the functions of General Manager, Chen is in charge of administrative management, and Wu is tasked as the Vice General Manager. From its modest beginnings, the company now maintains offices in Los Angeles, San Jose, and New Brunswick. The company joined the Taiwan Stock Exchange by making its Initial Public Offering in 2004.

ACARD Technology is known for its wide range of products that are associated with storage solutions. Its product lines include copy controllers that allow data transfer among UNIX, Linux, Mac, and even PC-based workstation devices. In 2000 the Mirror Smart technology was launched into the IT market which catered to the RAID subsystem. ACARD was also responsible for the development of the SCSI to IDE Bridge technology including the implementation of the SCSIDE engine core chip.

This core chip represents the second evolution of this technology for increased data transfer speeds. It is also known for introducing the Solid State SD/DRAM memory device to offer a faster data speed transfer alternative. Comparatively, the transfer speeds attained by the SSSD are higher than any flash drive or even hard drive for that matter.

Other notable products include Ha! DVD Burner (software), Disk Box for DAR/Media Streaming/DAR file systems, network storage products, RAID controllers, Copy Smart Plus family of DVD/BD/CD controllers (unconnected duplication), Serial ATA and SCSI adapters, IDE, and the Smart Mini series.

The SCSIDE engine is the combination of a SCSI, an IDE, and a CPU core under a single IC (Integrated Circuit) with the implementation of SOC technology. As part of its storage device solutions, the company also developed SCSI adapters which were incorporated into the SCSI-3 generations from the Ultra to the Ultra 160 product lines.

ACARD began creating SATA adapters that relied on lower power consumption, more reliable bus, and thinner cabling. The attainment of rapid data transfer speeds is accompanied with adequate data protection for the preservation of data integrity. Majority of the company’s storage solution products were given ISO 9001 certification in 2003.
